Sue Chen

January 5, 1954 - October 29, 2022

Sue Chen of Boston, MA, passed away on October 29, 2022, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital with her children and niece by her side. She was a devoted mother of Liz, Giselle, and John.  She is survived by three siblings, many sister and brother in-laws, and countless nieces and nephews.

Sue had immigrated to Boston from Taipei, Taiwan, and calls America home. She was the owner of Wonder Cafe in Watertown, MA.  Meeting and feeding people was one of her greatest passions and joys.  She volunteered for Tzu Chi Foundation, where she would assist with organizing food donations, fundraisers to help communities struggling from natural disasters and diseases. She will be remembered for her love for her family, friends, neighbors, and customers.  Her generosity, compassion, kindness, patience, and witty humor will forever be in our memories.  

Sue loved eating Sicilian pizza from Pinocchio’s; a tomato basil with extra extra tomatoes was her go to.  Sue’s favorite movies are anything with Jackie Chan in it; she even named the family turtle after him!  She enjoyed playing the card game, Lucky 7, with her children and their friends. 

All are welcome to join us in remembering and honoring Sue Chen.  A wake will be held at Wing Fook Funeral Home in Boston, MA, on Wednesday, November 9, from 5pm - 8pm.  Funeral day  will follow on Thursday, November 10, with services starting 9am - 10:30am.  The funeral procession will leave from Wing Fook Funeral Home at 11am, and arrive at Forest Hills Cemetery.
