Obituary of Sonya Yu

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sonya Yu, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Sonya left this world on February 18, 2025, at the age of 44. Sonya is survived by her loving parents, Kim Tow Yu and Janet Yu, who cherished every moment with her. Her devoted husband, Gary Chow, and their two beautiful children, Gillian and Sisley, will forever hold her in their hearts. She will be deeply missed by her sisters, Terese Yu, Denise Yu and her husband Daniel Sum, and Melissa Yu, who shared countless memories and bonds of sisterhood. Her brother-in-law, Ben Chow, and her sister-in-law, Christina Chan, and her husband, Bon, will also mourn her loss. Sonya was adored by her eight nieces and nephews, whose lives she touched with her warmth and affection. Her extended family and friends will remember her for her vibrant spirit and the joy she brought into their lives. Sonya's kindness, compassion, and unwavering love for her family and friends will be remembered and missed dearly. May she rest in peace, knowing that her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
