Obituary of Carolyn Miale
Carolyn B. (Szeto) Miale, beloved wife, mother, daughter, and friend, passed away on March 29th, 2025, at the age of 59. She was born on February 21, 1966, in Boston, MA, to Bing Szeto and Pui (Chin) Szeto. Carolyn grew up in Boston’s Chinatown and later in Brookline, MA. Her early years in these vibrant communities shaped her into the compassionate and hardworking woman she would become. After high school, Carolyn attended Syracuse University, where she met her future husband, Charles Miale. The two later settled in New York, where they raised their family.
Carolyn is survived by her loving parents, her husband, Charles Miale, of Highland Mills, NY, and her children, Katie Miale of Boston, MA, and Peter Miale of Highland Mills, NY. Her family was her greatest joy, and she was a constant pillar of love, support, and inspiration to them. Carolyn took immense pride and found great joy in the successes of her children, always encouraging and celebrating their achievements, big and small.
Carolyn’s work ethic and commitment to excellence were unmatched. For many years, she worked as a Store Manager at Max Mara at the Woodbury Commons, where she was known not only for her professionalism but also for her extraordinary dedication. Carolyn’s role extended far beyond her official duties—she was affectionately known as the “Mayor of the Commons” by many. Her ability to bring people together and make everyone feel valued was just one of the many ways she touched the lives of those around her.
Those who worked with Carolyn knew that she lived to work—her passion for her job was evident in everything she did. Whether it was striving to exceed expectations at work or providing for her family, Carolyn’s tireless dedication and work ethic were unmatched. She took great pride in the success of her work and in the well-being of her loved ones, always giving her best in every aspect of her life.
Carolyn’s passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who knew her. Her legacy of hard work, love, and kindness will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to have known her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
