“It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of our loving mother, Choan My Luu, 70, of Malden, MA, on November 16th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted wife of the late Duc An Huynh, a beloved mother and grandmother, a treasured sister and aunt.
Born in Vietnam, she grew up in humble beginnings but fought fiercely for a better life. With her husband and first son, she embarked on the courageous journey of a refugee, crossing an ocean with little more than the hope in her hands and love in her heart. In the US, she rebuilt life from the ground up. She raised three children with steadfast devotion, guiding them through every hardship with steady hands and a fierce heart.
Though life demanded strength from her, those who truly knew her felt the tenderness beneath it – a quiet warmth, a generous spirit, and a love expressed most beautifully through her cooking. Her food became memories, comfort, and connection for everyone in the family.
Her six grandchildren were her greatest joy. With them, she revealed her playful, fun side – one filled with laughter, gentleness, and a love that blossomed in every moment they shared.
She was not only a loving mother and grandmother but also a treasured sister and beloved aunt. Her family will forever remember her courage, her strength, her care, and the love she gave without hesitation.
She is survived by her son Tony Huynh, Erika Nguyen (daughter-in-law), son Peter Huynh and Reaksmey Soy (daughter-in-law), and daughter Justina Huynh, and her grandchildren Ashanti, Zachary, Zoe, Maxwell, Ryleigh, and Parker.”
