Kenny Lai passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at the age of 71. He was a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, caring brother, cherished uncle, and a dear friend to many. He was a faithful Christian whose beliefs guided his actions, shaped his values, and sustained him throughout his life. He lived a life defined by faith, hard work, and a deep love for his family and his businesses.

Born in Guangzhou, China, Kenny immigrated to the US in pursuit of opportunity and a better future for himself and his family. Through perseverance, courage, and determination, he and his wife built a life rooted in service and care for others. Above all else, Kenny treasured his family; he wanted to document and share every moment that brought him joy. He was a constant source of wisdom and encouragement to his family. His guidance, patience, and quiet strength shaped generations and will continue to live on through them.

Kenny was the proud owner of the Teriyaki House, a place that was more than just a business to him — it was his lifelong dream. He poured his heart into his restaurant which became his second family, creating a space filled with warmth, generosity, and great food. Many knew him not just as a restaurant owner, but as someone who worked tirelessly to help others and lift up his community.

He is survived by his wife Jennifer, son Arnold (Lydia), daughter Dawn (Timothy) and granddaughter Reese, siblings, and extended family. Kenny will be deeply missed and forever remembered. His legacy lives on in his faith, his family, and the community he helped create through a life marked by strong work ethic, sacrifice, and love.
