In Loving Memory of Chun Chu Lee

August 1935 – May 2026

Chun Chu Lee, a woman defined by resilience, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family,

passed away peacefully on May 1, 2026, at the age of 90. Her life was a testament to strength, sacrifice,

and enduring love.

Born on August 14, 1935, in Toisan, Guangdong Province, China, Chun married her beloved husband,

Sun Pang, and together they began their family in Kowloon, Hong Kong. There, she welcomed three

daughters—Sue Fong, Tammy, and the youngest, Betty. While her husband worked abroad to support

the family, Chun carried the responsibility of raising their daughters on her own, ensuring they were

nurtured, protected, and given every opportunity for a better future.

In August 1973, Chun and her daughters bravely journeyed to Boston, where the family was reunited.

Soon after settling into their new life, they welcomed their son, David. Chun worked tirelessly as a

seamstress before joining the Marriott as a prep cook, all while helping support her husband’s

restaurant business. Her dedication—to her family, her work, and her community—remained steadfast

until her retirement, where she spent her time helping raise and take care of her grandchildren.

Following the passing of her husband in 2009, Chun entered a new chapter with grace and quiet

strength. She found joy and belonging at the Berkley Community Garden, where she gardened alongside

her sister, Shui, and shared the fruits of her labor with family, friends, and neighbors. Her kindness,

generosity, and warm spirit made her a cherished presence. Chun loved to cook for others, always ready

with a favorite dish or a helping hand.

Throughout her life, Chun faced every challenge with courage. In her final days, she was surrounded

with love from her family and friends. She fought bravely through her health struggles and is now at

peace, reunited with her husband and the loved ones who passed before her.

Chun is survived by her four children, four grandchildren, and their spouses and significant others, all of

whom carry forward her legacy of love, perseverance, and quiet strength.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family on May 6, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00

PM at Wing Fook Funeral Home, 13 Gerard Street, Boston, MA 02119. Burial will follow at Blue Hill

Cemetery, 700 West St, Braintree, MA 02184.

Please note that this will be a traditional Chinese funeral service, including burning incense and offerings

during the visiting hours. The immediate family will pay their final respects at approximately 12:30 PM,

followed by the procession to the burial site.

Immediately following the burial, friends and family are warmly invited to join the family for a meal at

Jade Garden, 20 Tyler Street, Boston, MA 02111.
