Conrad Buck-Art Fong gallantly fought his battle with pancreatic cancer since August 28, 2025. It claimed him on Thursday, June 4, 2026.  

He was the son of Gim P. Fong and Fay E. Fong, husband of Shirley Liu Fong and father to Geoffrey Ken-Yee Fong. Born on September 25, his parents considered him a Christmas gift! He was a graduate of Newton North High School, class ‘69. He graduated from Worcester Polytech, class ‘73 with a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, and from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, class of ‘75 with a master's degree in Polymer Science. He also studied Computer Science at the University of Massachusetts Lowell.

He was the older brother to Dr. David Fong, Kody Fong, Kelsey Fong, Tyler Fong and Dr. Wayne Fong and his wife, Irene Tseng.  He had several relatives and cousins that surrounded him, especially his in-laws and their relatives, Raymond (deceased) and Mary Liu, Bob Liu and George Liu (deceased).

He was a person who was always eager to be a friend and willing to help out when possible.  He believed in God and was a member of United Church of Christ Congregational in Burlington, MA where he served as a Moderator and Trustee. He was also a member of the Society of Plastics Engineers, Blitznell Ski Club, and BHS Band Parent Boosters.

He had an amazing career at Sweetheart Corporation in Wilmington, MA, working as a Plastics Engineer until the company relocated to Maryland. He then worked at Regalite Plastics in Needham and served as a Plastic Formulation Engineer until the company relocated. He then decided to change careers and transitioned to becoming a software development engineer manager for Navihealth in Waltham until he retired at 72 yrs old.

He enjoyed spending time with the family, often going to movies to see sci-fi epics, such as Star Wars and Dune, and reading fantasies like Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter adventures, watching The Late Show, and so much more. He loved to go to Keltic Kitchen Restaurant for breakfast in Yarmouth, MA on special occasions.  He loved his homes in Burlington and Yarmouth Port, MA. He was an avid skier with co-worker friends from Sweetheart who became life-long friends, especially Bob Vaillancort, Dave McIntyre, Janet Courtier, Joe Shea, Tom Pennell, Dick Delaney, John Hildebrand, Dick Wolflein, Dick Hart and many others. He enjoyed being on a bowling league, travelling, and assisting his wife at events she planned, such as church, community, and garden club events, along with being his son’s marching band parent. He was a dedicated person who was always willing to help out.

Over the years, he endured so many health issues, but overcame many such as follicular lymphoma, prostate cancer, and cardiac issues (he had four stents).
