In Loving Memory of Hong Luu

July 25, 1939 – August 4, 2026

It is with profound sadness and love that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Hong Luu, who peacefully passed away on August 4, 2026, at the age of 87.

Born on July 25, 1939, in Chaozhou, China, Hong lived a life marked by extraordinary strength, unwavering determination, and boundless love for her family. In 1949, amid a time of great uncertainty, she fled China and rebuilt her life in Vietnam. Decades later, following the passing of her beloved husband in 1990, she once again demonstrated remarkable courage by immigrating to the United States in 1991 to create new opportunities for her family. She faced life’s challenges with courage, resilience, and dignity, never allowing adversity to diminish her spirit. Confident in who she was and decisive in every aspect of her life, Hong possessed an inner strength that inspired everyone who knew her. She embraced life’s decisions with clarity, and led her family with wisdom and grace.

Hong is survived by her nine children and their spouses, eleven grandchildren and their spouses, and many extended family members and dear friends. Each of them will forever cherish the precious memories they shared with her.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Hong’s life on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Wing Fook Funeral Home, 13 Gerard Street, Boston, MA 02119. The funeral service will be followed by cremation at Forest Hills Crematory, 171 Walk Hill Street, Boston, MA 02130. A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held at Tian Ann Temple, 49 Hayward Street, Braintree, MA 02184.

Our family extends our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered their love, prayers, support, and compassion during this difficult time.

Although her physical presence is no longer with us, Hong’s strength will continue to inspire us, her wisdom will continue to guide us, and her boundless love will forever live in our hearts.
