In Loving Memory of our dad, Mr. Chau Wah Wong

With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved father and grandfather, Mr. Chau Wah

Wong, on the evening of August 17, 2026, at Tufts Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. His life

was defined by resilience, devotion, and an unwavering commitment to those he loved.

Born in China in 1931, our dad’s early years were marked by profound loss and hardship. As a young boy, he

traveled to Indonesia with his father to help support the family business. Following the passing of his mother

and later his father, he returned to China alone. Having lost his siblings at a young age as well, he learned to

rely on his own strength and perseverance. These experiences shaped a man who was humble, independent,

hardworking, and quietly determined throughout his life.

Though reserved by nature and content to stay out of the spotlight, family was always at the center of our Dad's

heart. When he met his beloved wife, Mrs. Sau Wah Wong, at the beginning of the Cultural Revolution, he

found the partner who would guide and inspire the rest of his life. Out of love and devotion to her, he left

behind a comfortable life and financial security in China to begin anew challenging life in Hong Kong with very

little. He dedicated himself wholeheartedly to his wife and children, making countless sacrifices.

Our dad found his greatest happiness in life's simple pleasures, especially sharing meals with family and

friends. Whether enjoying traditional Chinese dishes or a favorite McDonald's cheeseburger, fries, and Diet

Coke, he cherished every opportunity to gather around the table with those he loved most. His quiet presence,

steadfast love, and selfless nature will remain a lasting source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew him.

We take comfort in knowing that he is now reunited in heaven with our beloved mother, free from pain and

suffering, and at peace once again.

Our Dad is survived by his loving son, Eric Wong; his daughter-in-law, Connie Wong; his loving

daughter, Emily Wong-Ng, and her husband, Eric Ng; and his cherished grandchildren, Ethan Wong, Ashley

Wong, Jocelyn Wong, and Angelica Ng. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose

lives he touched.

Service & Reception Details

Services will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026:

Viewing & Mass: St. James the Greater Catholic Church (125 Harrison Ave, Boston, MA). The last

viewing will take place from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM, followed immediately by the Funeral Mass.

Burial: Procession to Newton Cemetery for interment following the Mass.

Celebration of Life Luncheon: Join the family at 2:00 PM at Joyful Garden in Watertown to share

memories and celebrate his life.

Free Parking: Tufts Medical Center Garage Parking at 274 Tremont Street, Boston, Ma. 02116

Important Announcement about Parking

The Hudson St parking lot has closed. Validated parking will be available at the Tufts Medical Center

Tremont St Garage. The address of the Garage is 274 Tremont St, which is on the left after the Boch

Center/Wang Theatre. The Garage can also be entered at 813 Washington St by going up the ramp after

the Orange Line Tufts Medical Center T Station. Either entrance goes into the same Garage. Bring your

parking ticket to get a free validated ticket in the Church. Otherwise, you will need to pay a full price for

your parking.
