Xiu Zhen Zhang

張吴秀珍

1936-2023

Xiu Zhen Zhang of Boston, passed away peacefully at her home on March 8, 2023. She was 86.

Born in Kaiping, Canton, China on 11/10/1936, she immigrated to the United States in 1987. She worked as a meat packer at Charles River Food Packing Company for over ten years and a part-time baker at Stop & Shop. She loved family gatherings and enjoyed cooking, gardening, and watching soap operas. She was also a huge fan of the Boston Celtics.

Xiu Zhen was devoted to her family and was a proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her love, generosity, and dedication are part of her legacy that continues through her family. She will be missed by all the lives she touched.

Xiu Zhen was the beloved wife of the late Guang Huang Zhang, who passed in 2015. She was also the devoted mother of Xue Ling Yu and her husband Guo Fu of Boston, Shao Hua Zhang of Boston, Diane Yee and her husband Christopher of Quincy, and Shirley Li and her husband Raymond of Quincy.

She was also survived by eight grandchildren: Tony and his wife April, Kimberly and her husband Theodore, Benjamin, Xin and his wife Thuy, Mandy, Ivy, Ada, and Jacky.

Also survived by 8 great grandchildren: Chloe, Cayden, Penelope, Jason, Abigail, Ryan, Theodore, and Ethan.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday, March 13, 2023 from 5:00-8:00 PM in the Wing Fook Funeral Home, 13 Gerard Street, Boston, MA.

Her funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at 11:00 AM in Wing Fook Funeral Home, 13 Gerard Street, Boston, MA.

Interment will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery, 95 Forest Hills Ave., Jamaica Plain, MA.
