Obituary of Kai See Liu
Kai S. Liu, on October 15, 2023, at the age of 93 passed away peacefully in hospice care in Milton, MA. Devoted son of the late Hung C. Liu and Wat C. Liu, dutiful husband of Shui S. Liu, proud father of Wilson Liu and his wife Esther Liu, grandfather of Sophia and Allison, proud father of Nelson Liu and his wife Amy Tran, grandfather of Thompson, proud father of Jason Liu and his wife Amy Kwan, grandfather of Audrey, dear brother of Anita Wing and her husband Alvin Wing, and Jane Wong and her husband Kenneth Wong, and supportive uncle to nephews and nieces. Born December 17, 1930, in Toisan, Guangdong Province, China, Kai immigrated to the West through Canada, then to Boston, MA in the United States. Brookline has been home to Kai since 1969 and continues to be for many in the family. Like many other Chinese immigrants to Boston from his generation, Kai spent much of his life working in the restaurant business to earn an honest living to support his family, keeping a roof over their heads, putting food on the table, and sending his children to college in hopes that they would have a better life and more opportunities than his. He was known for being a fair and honest man, who took great pride in the reputation of his family name. His two passions were watching his family grow around him and a having good meal. Friends and relatives are respectfully invited to visiting hours on October 27th, from 9 am to 11 am at Wing Fook Funeral Home in Boston. The brief funeral service will also be held at Wing Fook. Following the visitation, the procession will leave at 11 am for Forest Hills Cemetery in Boston for internment.
